The weather today was rather horrid, so I could sit inside and finish the stormtrooper sergeant with a clear conscience. That also means I painted my first five-man stormtrooper squad in one week.

Sarge
The stormtrooper sergeant is coming along nicely, except for the antennae that snapped under construction, got replaced by plastic rod, and then broke off again during painting.
I'm going with metal wire next time...

A storm is coming
Here's the first four stormtroopers painted and ready to take on the enemies of mankind (or the enemies of the inquisitor in command...)
Coming up is the sergeant (I refuse to use the word "tempestor" ). Trying out some variant heads inspired by Krauts article:
Not sure which way to go yet...

Stormum Trooperus
Here's the test model for my first squad of inquisitorial stormtroopers (or militarium tempestus or whatever).
I put the other four together today and will start painting them this week so if you have any suggestions visavi paintscheme let me know!
Here´s a quick guide to how I painted him.
Undercoat: Chaos black followed by light dusting of army painter grey
Cloth: steel legion drab, washed with camoshade. highlighted by adding zandri dust to the mix
Armour: standard grey washed with nuln oil, drybrushed with mix of standard grey and zandri dust and edge highlights in celestra grey
Bone: Zandri dust washed with seraphim sepia, Highlighted with celestra grey and skull white.
Red: Mephiston red mixed with black, washed with agrax earthshade and highlighted with mephiston red.
The cyan/blue/turquise is an army painter paint whose name eludes me at the moment but it´s probably pretty similar to sotek green. Highlight by adding white to the original paint.

Headless guardsman
Finally - after a period with little time and even less enthusiasm for modelling, the release of the new storm troopers / scions / militarium tempestus ("a beloved child has many names" as we say in sweden...) has yet again spurred me into action.
The kit is simply amazing - arguably one of the best GW has ever produced - and the modelling possibilities for those with inquisitorial leanings are endless. The sprues are just teeming with useful bitz (stars of the show being the powerfist and tempestor coat).
I just bought the kit and the plan is to put the first squad together more or less straight out of the box and use the as inquisitorial stormtroopers - here's the test model on which I'll try out the paintscheme:
I did however try out some alternative heads before glueing on the helmet. Some of theese look pretty cool and illustrates how versatile this kit can be - a simple head swap can completely change the mood of the model.
