However, I have a question: in your pics, the paintjob comes across as a tiny bit dusty in "complexion". I guess we're so used to that rubbery candy-coated finish that most miniature paint lines have... your models (at least in the pics) look to have a grittier, dustier feel to them. Is that intentional? Are you using different mediums than most people? Perhaps a different "dullcote" sealer spray? Or is due to painting technique?

The grittiness is quite intentional. The percieved "dustiness" is probably just due to the crappy iPhone pics...
