Ironfather

Just a quick update to prove I'm still alive and that I'm doing stuff... Almost done with the Ironfather ( my second take on the subject as a matter of fact).

Here's a quick shot of him next to the naval officer for scale.

- edit -

Replaced the servoarm with a slightly more imposing one.

  1. He is looking very nice indeed. Love the bionic arm/power fist. A very imposing axe he has there as well.

The only thing I would say is that the servo arm on his backpack doesn't look big enough in the picture to be able to actually help him, does't look like it has the reach.

    1. I agree with Rictus; that looks more like a servo-afterthought than a proper servo arm on a figure with such stature.

    2. You're absolutely right gents! Good call!

    3. I do like the new servo arm a lot more, seems more practical while also having a bigger visual impact.

  2. The (breacher?) Arm looks like it was made for the mini. Liking the vox grille on his backpack too.

    1. The various servo arms in the kataphron kit are amazing. I'll probably never build more than one actual cyber centaur, but I'll make good use of the arms...

  3. Woohoo! Really impressive! The breacher arm fits really perfect. A really great (or big) guy. :D

  4. What are the bits used here - FW termie lower body and gw termie upper body? Otherwise I totally agree on the kataphron sprues. After assembling mine I still have a bucket full of bits left :D

    1. Yep - you´re right on the money. Tartaros legs and a cut-down plastic temie torso.

    2. The Tartaros legs are quite upright aren't they - hence the appearance of longer legs?

    3. Yeah - they´re not squatting to take a dump like most plastic marines have a tendency to do...

  5. Great looking model thus far! The newly modified servo arm on his backpack looks a lot better and more functional.

I imagine you are planning to do something to mend the seam where his resin legs meet his plastic body? I think all you would really need to do is add a little greenstuff to fill in that small gap. You could try and make that armor plate on his belly segmented to have more nods to a techmarine.

The only thing on the model that I am not sold on is the size of the head of the chain-axe. I think it is slightly too large for the haft of the weapon. If you want to keep the axe large, maybe try bulking out the haft of the axe and extending it slightly such that it is resting on his base.

Keep up the great work! I am looking forward to seeing how the model progresses.

    1. Cheers Adam!

I honestly dont mind the seam. There's a breast plate and a "belly plate" so a gap between them looks fairly natural to me. Or are you talking about something else?

The axe is pretty big, I know. This is 40k though... I think a lot of the selling will be in up to the paintjob. The plan is to paint the haft bright and the axe head black. The contrast will make the haft seem thicker and black is we all know slimming. The axe itself will be resting on a convinient piece of terrain.

    2. I see what you mean about the 'belly plate' One would imagine it is attached to the rest of his armor, such that the seam is not really out of place.

I look forward to seeing the how you paint the axe. I think the paint job will largely remedy my concerns, along with the terrain for him to rest it on.

  6. I was diagnosed as HEPATITIS B carrier in 2013 with fibrosis of the
liver already present. I started on antiviral medications which
reduced the viral load initially. After a couple of years the virus
became resistant. I started on HEPATITIS B Herbal treatment from
ULTIMATE LIFE CLINIC (www.ultimatelifeclinic.com) in March, 2020. Their
treatment totally reversed the virus. I did another blood test after
the 6 months long treatment and tested negative to the virus. Amazing
treatment! This treatment is a breakthrough for all HBV carriers.
