Fly my pretties

It took me a while, but the blightking unit is finally done.

Muscomorphus is the standardbearer for the blightkings, carrying a tattered, filth-encrusted banner surrounded by a constant swarm of buzzing flies. So dedicated to the lord of pestilence is he that his very visage has taken form of an insect, acting as an icon for his patron.

Here's Muscomorphus along with the whole five man (thing?) unit:

And here they're joined by their lord and master, Mawgut Gloop - who's recieved a shiny new (and suitably imposing) 50mm base.

Now I've only got to make eight chaos warriors, a plague sorceror and three trolls...

  1. The flag is brilliant. Very much an homage to old RoC imagery from the 80's and 90's.

    Fantastic looking unit sir.

  3. Lovely (or distinctly unlovely) work. That banner is superb!

  4. So much character. They're beautiful, man, just beautiful. Very evocative of Realms of Chaos.

  5. Cheers guys! Glad you pick up the RoC vibes - that look vas really the goal from the get go.

Oh, and sorry about the photos - they turned out worse than normal for some reason...

  6. Great looking unit!
I'm not sure about their lord though. He's an incredibly cool looking miniature, but he doesn't really stand out. The models base size is almost the only thing making him different from the other Blightkings.

I'm really exited about how you'll do the trolls! Keep up the great work.

    1. I do see your point. Among the rest of the crew he doesn´t exactly stand out.

He was made last year intended as a nurgly champion. I liked the mini so much that it was decided from the start of the Path to Glory project that he was to be the boss of the new warband. In other words he´s sort of there for nostalgic reasons...

  7. Very nice, I am also quite curious as to how you will handle the trolls and really look forward to it

  8. Lovely banner. Your free hand skills are amazing ... as always.

  9. My plastic and metal miniatures kingdom for a downloadable PDF version of this game supplement. Why must GW always put their stuff out in digital phone and tablet format only? Would love to play this game if it's as good as I've been hearing it is. Anyways, mini rant over. These are beautifully done sir (in their own Nurglich, bile encrusted sort of way). I do enjoy your take on the Blightkings, bloated and decrepit man-things that still have a burning ferocity underneath. Classic Nurgle has always been depicted as jolly and almost "friendly" in some aspects, but when battle is upon them Nurgle doesn't throw any punches and is ready to get down and dirty with the enemy in the most disgustingly brutal ways possible. You've done a great job depicting that into your work, keep it up in your next lot of warriors for the warband! Can't wait to see more.

    1. I'm pretty sure the rules are available in an ePub format which is readable on pretty much anything you can read a pdf on. I read them in Adobe digital edition- the free Adobe ePub reader. Sorry for the threadjack! Awesome models, I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the warband.

  10. I look forward to the trolls, they seem like the sort of subject that is made for your talents.

  11. Thanks all! I´ll try to snap some better pictures of the standardbearer (and especially his banner). I think the camera lens might have been slightly smudgy when these photos were taken...

  12. I have no words to describe that Blightkings band... They are not easy figures to paint, and you chose to apply a very colourful scheme, but you manage to make them look grim and menacing.
The round bases suit them a lot better. It is just the kind of small warband I could look at for hours.

    Good job!

    1. Thank you Morbäck!

They might not be easy to paint, but they're sure as hell fun to paint!

  14. I was diagnosed as HEPATITIS B carrier in 2013 with fibrosis of the
liver already present. I started on antiviral medications which
reduced the viral load initially. After a couple of years the virus
became resistant. I started on HEPATITIS B Herbal treatment from
ULTIMATE LIFE CLINIC (www.ultimatelifeclinic.com) in March, 2020. Their
treatment totally reversed the virus. I did another blood test after
the 6 months long treatment and tested negative to the virus. Amazing
treatment! This treatment is a breakthrough for all HBV carriers.
