Wizard of Ooze

While slowly amassing the chaos warriors - trying to create an interesting diversity within the unit - I took a break and cobbled together this Sorceror of Nurgle.

There were tons of different ideas for this one - I had plans on basing him on everything from the trusted cairn wraith to the goblin shaman. In the end though, I decided to put my extensive bitz box to use, and based him on an old stormvermin/ork torso splice I found at the bottom.
Quite happy with the end result!

  1. He is very different from how I imagined him, yet he still looks like a natural part of the warband. Good work on him, the parts blend together nicely.

Will he be painted this evening?

  3. The skaven - ork splice is something I haven't seen yet and one that really creates an interesting body shape.

    1. Thanks!
I wanted a misshapen, asymmetrical look without taking him into borderline chaos spawn territory. The oversized torso in combination with the differently sized arms really helps sell that.

  4. very cartoony proportions but with your paintjob I bet it will be suitably gritty! =)

    1. Haha. He is pretty cartoony I guess. Very "new warhammer" in energy and proportions. I´ll bring my top old school painting game to soften that somewhat.

  5. Long time fan. Yet another beautiful conversion. Where is the sword on his back from?

    1. Much obliged!

The sword is a nifty little extra from the blightking kit.

  6. Nice! I like the little Tyranid bug limb.

    1. Yeah - I´ve been looking for a way to incorporate that spare zoanthrope vestigal leg and this seemed like the perfect opportunity.

  7. Another amazing and much unexpected conversion! You are a true master of combining bits, a sculptor who uses hard plastic as medium instead of greenstuff! You look at the bits and you see things other people, me included, would have never noticed and that means having a distinctive vision!
I particularly appreciate how you manage to transform rather uninspired and useless parts of the mini, like the small metal patch on the back of the orc's torso, into something new and with a purpose by simply hanging a sword's scabbard to it! Great work!

    1. Thank you kindly, sir.

The metal plate just seemed like a good place to hang the scabbard off - very much a last minute decision...

  8. Very cool, I'm actually really curious about how you made this guy exactly. I hope you don't mind giving that away.

    1. Umm... Right. Here goes:
Its basically a trimmed down ork torso with skaven stormvermin legs. Then a blightking head (and various other bits like the staff), ork right arm, plaguebearer left arm, vestigal zoethrope arm. Some greenstuff and a smattering of other bitz from various kits too numerous to mention...

  9. Sorry for the double comment here... I would like to ask you what is it that white plastic that you are using for the small parchments? is it some king of very thin plasticard sheet? I am looking for materials to convert some horse reins, would you suggest it for this kind of use?
    Thanks!

    1. Yep. It's thin plasticard from a hobbystore. I bought them in a pack with several different thicknesses.

  10. Chaos Sorcerers should be all warped and affected by the magicks they play with. The large-arm/small-arm is a great way of showing this. I like that he's "Faceless" too, makes him more sinister. Wonder if he has a beautiful babyface that he's trying to hide from his master for fear that it too will be twisted and distorted as a "gift"?

    1. Or he's so unfathomably hideous even his pox-ridden brethren can't bear to look at him...

  11. Great looking conversion! The diverse range in the sizes of the body proportions are wonderful, giving him a very exaggerated and creepy silhouette. I love his hooded head and the gnarled horns.

  12. I was diagnosed as HEPATITIS B carrier in 2013 with fibrosis of the
liver already present. I started on antiviral medications which
reduced the viral load initially. After a couple of years the virus
became resistant. I started on HEPATITIS B Herbal treatment from
ULTIMATE LIFE CLINIC (www.ultimatelifeclinic.com) in March, 2020. Their
treatment totally reversed the virus. I did another blood test after
the 6 months long treatment and tested negative to the virus. Amazing
treatment! This treatment is a breakthrough for all HBV carriers.
