Wow. What a trip.
I just got back from Nottingham and a Pilgrym event that can only be described as a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Formulating any coherent account, apart from superlative ridden tirades about how awesome everyone who contributed to this is, is completely beyond me at this time. In other words you'll have to wait for a true recap.
I can say that Lazaros and his cronies did rather well - as a matter of fact he managed to abscond with the pivotal Pilgrim. Not only did that grant me the "victory" (though I think everyone who played were winners) but as a price I recieved a rather nice gift...
Thank you John, Migs and Pete for making this happen.
they look absolutely stunning on the board, thanks for sharing and looking forward to the recap!
ReplyDeleteand a JB original is a hell of a prize!
It is a very fine prize indeed. I was so happy when I got it.
DeleteHuzzah!
ReplyDeleteYay!
DeleteJust watching from the (virtual) sidelines has been a trip! I can only imagine how great it must have been to be there...
ReplyDeleteIt was so much fun - both during the game which ran smoother than anticipated, but perhaps especially just hanging out with everybody.
DeleteThese pictures of the stairs and all this great characters is just breath taking!!! :D Pure AWESOMENESS!!! :D
ReplyDeleteMigs, JRN and FPOA did an amazing job on the terrain.
DeleteIt's been amazing watching this project develop. Thanks for sharing the pics and especially that lovely prize!
ReplyDeleteMore to come - at least on Ironsleet. My phone unfortunately ran of of batteries so I don't have that many photos of the event...
DeleteO wow! Those photos look so engrossing. Dreary and thematic - would love to see this type of detail in person.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the JB artwork! Looks like a lovely piece and one for the hobby room walls to inspire future works eh?
I' e got two now! At this rate there'll be a whole wall soon...
DeleteWell done brother!
ReplyDelete:-)
DeleteIt was such a fantastic experience, it is hard to describe! It was awesome to finally meet you, see some of your models in person, and just talk! As for Inquisitor Lazaros, just know that the headless Roland is on his trail, with the support of the Ordo Machinum...
ReplyDeleteIt really was fantabulous. Looking forward to face off against Lazaros pursuers.
DeleteThe kill count was in the end rather low, considering the sheer amount of pilgryms that were there. Well, if you dont cont some Marines going totally nuts :D
ReplyDeleteWhat a day and what a game! But rhe best part were you guys!
The scene was quite serene, only interrupted by a few acts of random violence. Felt kinda fitting in a way - the pilgrims going about their business. Loved the faceoff between Lazaros and the milkmaiden.
DeleteWhat game do you play with this and how do you make rules for the made up characters you made?
ReplyDeletehttps://ironsleet.com/2016/01/12/building-your-pilgrimage-by-the-dozen/
DeleteExactly - necromunda rules with some modifications. We kept it pretty simple as there were so many models on the board.
Delete(I posted a link to the same page without realising it had already been posted...)
DeleteIt was Necro Community Edition but with more 40k thrown in because of the scale of the game. Also used a random turn order, so that the 11 players wouldnt get bored waiting for their go. Plus made stuff up as it seemed appropriate.
DeleteSuprisingly it was such a good game that ran smoothly. I was very worried that 11 players plus npc's would drag and be unmanageable. But my gaming group are bloody awesome :-)
Congrats on your victory
ReplyDeleteCongrats dude, what a amazing project, so glad it lived up to expectations for you all, and what a prize!
ReplyDeleteCheers mate!
DeleteYour warband was simply gorgeous. Thanks for the inspiration to get back into the hobby.
