Brokk the mechnomancer is ready to reanimate some busted machinery.
Here he is next to his associate the Skadiir and a human naval officer (who's probably feeling slightly nervous between the two large space aliens) for size reference.
Probably the best runtherd-based conversion I've seen! I like the combination of brutality & sophistication you've managed to achieve. Monotony of colour only makes all the small bits stand out. Pattern on the skin of both aliens works perfect for the intended SW feel. I'm happy to see you're back on the track, your works are truly an inspiration.
Cheers Neil! I love to put grills on chests for some reason. It just feels right in a 40k setting...
I have lost some motor skills I think - but that'll come back in a jiffy. My eyes are getting crappy though - part of why I took a break. Illustrator by day and painter of tiny models by night does take its toll... Guess I'll have to revert to a sloppier paintingstyle. That would certainly increase my output!
There is so much character to this figure. I already liked it pre-paint, but now it's done he's fantastic. The expression on his face is perfect - great choice of head.
Beautiful work, man! I am always in awe of your creations, they just ooze character!
ReplyDeleteCheers mate! I think I captured his grumpy personality quite well.
DeleteHe's quite good. Love the use of the beast man head. But I would prefer that his body need a little bit more colour than brown only.
ReplyDeleteYou've certainly got a point. I'm planning to repaint his "t-shirt" in a lighter shade of grey brown.

ReplyDeleteThanks Alex.
DeleteI'm certainly keeping the monochrome palette - the plan is just to lighten the belly slighty to mark it as a different fabric than the cloak.
Love the way you use colour to tie the models together.. looks like you haven't lots anything in the past couple of months..
ReplyDeletegreat looking model full of personality.. the voxcastor on his chest is a nice touch..

ReplyDeleteThanks! I'm reallu quite pleased with how he turned out. The beastman heads are amazing - Brian Nelseon is a genious.
