Rotstalker no.II

I had so much fun with the first ruststalker that crafting another one was unavoidable. Here's a (very) work in progress shot: 


Haven't decided on the right arm...  Might use a kataphron gun arm like on the other guy, or something more organic - a mutation of some sort. We'll see...

  1. He looks great man, definitely will make a fine addition to your rotting AdMech crew.

    As for his other arm I think a mutation is the right way to go. It should help to really differentiate him from his brother.

  2. As usual, inspiring stuff. I've just started playing around with infantry kitbashes and man, the skiitari and cultists models almost feel meant for each other. I've only done really rudimentary stuff so far but I can't wait to get into the rust stalker and infiltrator kits as they have some seriously cool war gear. I'm still slogging away at converting vehicles, I'm working on an onager Dunecrawler right now that I'm making out of a chopped up cultist in an old cheesex dice cube I'm going to fill with water effects

  6. If I am not mistaken its a Chaos cultist head. I vote mutation arm over the kataphron gun arm, I think an overgrown arm would look very solid perhaps a combination of one of the bloated Blight King arms fused with a kataphron gun would be quite fitting

  9. In a warband filled with big guys with big guns, it's sometimes nice to have a model that looks completely useless compared to the others. Making them look even more bad-ass. So how about not giving him another arm at all. Just convert a little stump where his arm should have been, or a couple of cables sticking out of his shoulder.

  11. Perhaps some sort of tower shield to help him get into close combat unscathed? Gives you a nice large area for any freehand you'd like to do too.

    The only issue with that is that he'd need some sort of offensive capability too. Perhaps a shoulder mounted firearm, or close combat third arm? Or even something set into the shield itself?

    If not, I also like Peter's idea of some sort of short range area effect weapon that ties into the toxic / disease theme. Something like a flame thrower / fire hose... similar in lethal effect to the purifying flames used by the Ordos Ecclesiarchy, but corrupting instead of purifying.
