Ivaldian Mechnomancer

So... The plan was to do a mercenary xenos - a starwarsy "scum and villainy"-type who'd fit in well rubbing shoulders with your average Mos Eisly cantina customer.
Then the grimdark just sort of started creeping in and he turned into something else entirely...

Meet Brokk - a grumpy Ivaldian Mechnomancer.

The Ivaldians are a technologically advanced race that have attained a special form of psychic affinity with machines. They all have the ability to communicate with any sufficiently advanced apparatus (techepathy) and some, the Mechnomancers, to revive and control broken machinery.
Ivaldians tend to have lots of bionic implants - the artificial parts seem to enhance their powers.

  1. An excellent, evocative model! You have managed to take a host of random, unrelated parts and merge them seamlessly together. The careful placement of cables and other little protrusions really add to the overall effect, and make the model seem complete. Good use of the breacher arm and all the little bionic limbs!

    1. Cheers Eric.

I love those breachers. I'll probably never actually build one in its entirety, but the bitz alone - all those vestigal arms and bionics - are worth the cost of the box.

  2. Great looking model all around. I particularly like his arms, the claw looks wonderful. Is there some way you could get across his ability to control broken machines on the model itself? Or some way to suggest he speaks telepathically? Are they shamanistic mechromancer abilities? If you you might be able to get that notion across with a staff or talisman.

I am looking forward to seeing the model progress!

    1. Thanks for the input Adam! As usual I made up the backstory after the mini was built so I'm not that kern on going back and change the model. Easier to change the fluff if it doesn't fit. Mini first - concept later...

  3. Really cool, love the idea / concept. I'm agree with Adam a talisman or talismans may add a contrast between the technology and somtething more "tribal"... anyway, as always good stuff

    1. Cheers buddy!

I really don´t see him as "tribal" in that sense. He´s just an alien that talks to machines (you know...like you do.)

  4. Okay, not Volus.

But I love the fluff you've made for him and the back appendages look really cool too.

    2. Ah. I presume they talk to machines then? I haven't played a computer game since Worms 2...

  5. Mechnomancers - another wonderful and animated concept! Whatever talismans he would wear would probably be bolts, nails, screws, etc.

    1. Cheers! I do like the sound of it!
Though a quick googling shows I´m in no way the first to come up with that word...

  7. I was diagnosed as HEPATITIS B carrier in 2013 with fibrosis of the
liver already present. I started on antiviral medications which
reduced the viral load initially. After a couple of years the virus
became resistant. I started on HEPATITIS B Herbal treatment from
ULTIMATE LIFE CLINIC (www.ultimatelifeclinic.com) in March, 2020. Their
treatment totally reversed the virus. I did another blood test after
the 6 months long treatment and tested negative to the virus. Amazing
treatment! This treatment is a breakthrough for all HBV carriers.
