Marvelous work, mate! I also think that the spray can malfunction actually works in the model's favour, making the clothes on his back look even more ruddy and threadbare.
"The Host" is actually a pretty amazing name for him, if you don't mind me saying so, especially if the circus troupe is going to have a Nurglite theme going...
My one nitpick - and I almost don't want to say it, because there's absolutely nothing wrong with the model per se - is that, at first glance, he reads as a Mordheim model rather than someone from the 41st millennium, but I guess that could easily be remedied by giving him the right entourage.
I agree - he's deep into fantasy territory - that's why I gave him the bionic eye as a "marker". However - the galaxy is a big place and you can fit in most attires in the 41st millenium...
To begin with he'll hang out with the rest of the nurglys. At some point, if I add more carnies to the retuine, they can split off into a retuine of their own.
Great job on this, Jeff! It's an absolutely stunning and creepy character. It's true that he might seem more like a Mordheim model at first glance. But certain details, such as the holstered gun, the bionic eye and for me even the staff, clearly state he belongs to a futuristic setting.
Love the look of this fellow! I'm working on some fantasy pieces myself at the minute and his appearance plus the gritty yet colourful palette you'be has inspired me to try something similar! I've added you to my Blogroll, sir! Continue being awesome! o7
Absolutely amazing piece of art. Cannot use any other words.
ReplyDeleteThank's mate!

It's pretty easy after all - grimdark with a round base= 40k. Grimdark with a square base= Warhammer. Simple really!
