Psyber Vampiress

Psyber Vampiress Comtessa Serpina Beltrami joins the growing band of misfits.

I took a lot of cues from the vampire character Damaskinos in "Blade II" who has a lovely wax-like semi transparent skin. Furthermore, apart from the obvious inspiration from "Nosferatu", the Remans from "Star Trek Nemesis" who has always been favourites of mine for some strange reason.

  1. Oh that is a beauty - colorscheme is spot on. The black works wonders, with those subtle highlights - which colors do you use for highlighting black?
And since we are talking colors here - any chance you could take me trough the build up of the skin?

    1. Thanks man. The black was built up using nuln oil wahes over a grey undercoat. Then highlighted with a mix of black and flesh.
the skin was undercoated with a mix of light grey and flesh. Shaded with washes of blue ink mixed witk earthshade and then highlighted using the origal mix with white added for each highlight. The veins were drawn on with a red staedler pen.

  2. Excellent looking model! The paint makes the conversion even stronger, very well done. The pallid skin against the corroding metal and verdigris, looks stellar. The black and red colours are dull and Blancheian, and the parchments worn and tattered looking. Perfect.

  3. Are you on holidays or painting at work or something? You seem to be churning out painted minis at an alarming rate ...

Anyway, I think now that it's painted, the mini works perfectly. I still had some reservations before, but now I really like it. Lots of nice touches (skin), but best part for me is the back pattern.

    1. Haha - no I'm not on holiday. I just had a lot of pent up paint urge after my back problems...

Glad you like her! Seems a lot of people were sceptical about this one initially. Happy you don't still feel that way...

  5. Wouldn't want to find that around a grimdark corner or in a grimdark alleyway.

Love the details on her head.
