'Eavy IV

Finished! This guy took his time but he turned out okay methinks.

I'm really pleased with the base - been experimenting with cork to build up the terrain instead of the usual plasticard. It works really well - the features becomes more random and grainy which feels more naturalistic.

  1. I'll be the first to admit. The mask was the right choice, I see it now :) love the black stripes on it!

What's your next model? Would be awesome seeing a cc beast of nurgle ;)

    1. Glad you like in the end. The striped helmet seems very divisive - you´re one of the few that like them!

We´ll see what´s next... I have to write my new book so hobby time will be limited for a while.

  2. I think this piece works so very well, the gun and ammo pack look large and heavy, but he looks like he has the weight and strength to support it. I think the balance of the miniature is spot on.

Again, your colours/weathering compliment the figure wonderfully, another great conversion.

  3. Nice dirty flesh on it. I love the hazard stripes on the mask!

    Good work!

  4. He looks great. I really like the stripes. There's so much going on on the model it kind of needs that extra 'HEY' on the otherwise blank face to draw the eye to the head. You're really having fun with these blight kings huh?

  5. I love this model! Your use of Cyan as a spot colour is great! I really like the 'munda look this fellow has I can just imagine him plodding through the underhive, gun braced and ready for something gribbly to jump out.

    1. Yeap! That´s pretty much how I see him as well!

  6. Your characters, even when they have no visible emotional clues in their modeled stance (or in this brute's case, a visible face), simply ooze personality. Especially this bloke, and that pun was unintentional, though it fits. I'm trying to decide if he (it?) is wielding some sort of snub-nosed heavy machine gun or a grenade launcher? In the end though, I don't think I'd be willing to ask him about it in person, just his presence would put me in flight mode if he were real. Amazing work as always Mr. Jeff, loving all your work so far. Truly stunning and inspirational stuff.

    1. Thanks mate!

I think the gun is some sort of stubber/bolter/machine gun kinda deal, but it´s really open to interpretation...
