Hereteks

Work continues on the nurgly techpriest. Managed to fit a cataphractii breastplate on his torso which really helps bring him into the 41st millenium.

I've also undercoated the plagueborg with the patented three-layer technique: black basecoat, brown 45 degree spray and a final grey zenithal dusting. It's really effective and provides an interesting natural foundation for the paintjob. If used for batch painting one could finish an army in no time with this method - you'd only need some drybrushing and a few washes to finish basic troops like a clanrat or a necron off.

  1. The breastplate makes a tremendous difference. Well done!

    1. Thanks. It took some cutting and swearing, but well worth it. The kataphron torsos are more or less the same size as the khorne priests so it looks really natural once fitted.

  2. Wow! Now there's a conversion and a half. Great use of the Blood priest and an inspired choice of parts. Really looking forward to seeing this bloke painted. It could be my favourite conversion from you yet.

    1. Cheers Jordan!
Still loads of work to do so there's plenty time to mess it up...

  3. Great concept. Have you considered tilting the head so he is looking down? It may look more ominous.

  4. Great work on those two Nurgle followers! For the techpriest are you planning to give him a powerpack with some servo arms? That could make him even more menacing.

I have been working on a Slaughterpriest conversion for the past two or so months. I am converting him into a corrupt Death Guard terminator lord to go along with my other converted Death Guard. Most of my work thus far has gone into reworking his legs and body. I too used the breastplate from one of the Kataphron Battle Servitors in my conversion. The piece fits surprisingly well; I am glad you figured it out too!

Impressive work! Keep it up. :)

    1. Yeah - like I said in my first post: "There'll be loads more stuff added of course - vestigal arms, mechadentrites, greenstuff cowl, lots and lots of wires among other things. Obviously a muscular techpriest, however chaotic, sort of goes against the archetype, but that's sort of the point - the idea being that he's mutated and enhanched his own body using arcane technomantic genecraft."
I won´t give him a backpack though, as I really like the exposed spine of the original model.
Have you put up pics of you Khorne priest conversion yet? Can´t wait to see it!

    2. The exposed spine on the model is really cool and will help distance the model from a loyalist tech priest. :)

The slaughterpriest conversion I am working on is still in progress so I have yet to post any pictures. I need to put a lot more work into the model, but imagine he will be similar to the three Death Guard I have currently converted (but a little larger due to the base model).
