Chaos consume us

Time for our next Path to Glory special feature - this time focusing on Alexanders eclectic and downright bizarre warband devoted to She who Thirsts

Hi, I'm Alexander, the third member of our coven and sworn hierophant of Slaanesh.

With my warband I want to explore the more extreme aspects of the Dark Princess (yes, to me Slaanesh is female). The God's Hand have travelled far down the path that are the circles of Slaanesh Inferno. They keep no slaves, every torture and sensation are reserved for themselves.

This was my first warrior, before I knew what this project was about. He is a ritualistic torturer and flesheater. The conversion combine parts from electro-priests, cultists and daemons.

I really struggled at first when it came to the Stormcast miniature. What to do with it. In the end I turned him to chaos. He is the unreasonable fury of jealousy. In his hand he carries the head of his lover, well aware that she will just grow a new body to keep tormenting him.

My lieutenant, chaos should be strange and take odd turns. I was very much inspired by Kingdom Death when it came to this conversion. The parts are from the empire, high elf and dark eldar ranges.

Since we are inspired by the classic Realm of Chaos books I decided to add a more nonsensical miniature, the fallen king.

For heavier hitters I rolled up a troupe of Hellstriders. As an other nod to older editions I included a centaur.

This has proven to be a lot of fun. My warriors just need to be painted and based. Then I have a few more Hellstriders to complete, some more sculpting on my giant conversion and my chaos lord.

Till next time,

Alexander

  1. Nice! I especially like the lion with the human face. It gives a quite creepy vibe. Your first warrior is also a great conversion. The expressionless human face on the things forehead is a great and disturbing detail.

How are you planning to paint them?

    1. Thank you! Glad you like the gang. The painting will try to reflect the entrophy of decadence, lots of smeara and cracks in once beautiful armour.

I am a huge fan od your blog, so much gold on it.

  3. This is another great warband :) I really like that it doesn't play on sex and perversion. What ideas on the Lord?

Pity you guys do don't have a khorne representative.

    1. We're working on recruiting a fourth participant of the khornate persuasion. Stay tuned...

    2. Thanks Tommy. Well the sex and perversions are certainly a part of the theme. However in darker forms, torture, cannibalism, necrophilia. The warband are jaded and need new extremes to reach their highs.

As for the lord I have an idea I'm trying out. We will see how it goes but it should be a on the razor edge between ascension and damnation.

And hopefully the blood wind will roar bloody murder soon.

  5. These are some awesome, characterful miniatures. Each is unique and odd, fully fitting with my view of what chaos should be. I love the head you created for your first warrior, it has a horrifying resemblance to a xenomorph; the removal of prominent eyes really sells it. I love the concept behind your jealousy warrior, burning with his passion. And that you did so much to separate it from the base stormcast. Your lion certainly has a kd vibe, but I feel you have strengthened the theme, exploring darker themes and focused it all expertly with that face. I cannot wait to see them all painted! A triumph of dark creativity!

    1. Thank you. That is very kind of you to say.

Chaos should be random and wierd, hell it's in the name after all ;) that makes it a bit hard for me to create complete units. There should be somekind of unity to them but they should still be unique. I think it will work out nicely in the end.

  7. These are utterly fantastic, a really nice take on Slaanesh. The hierophant and warrior are great concepts and conversions.

But its the more chaotic elements that i love the Centaurs and the leader being a mutated lion are great and really characterful. Looking forward to seeing more :)

  8. Thank you. I'm glad you like them.

Actually the Lion is my second in command, his duty is to interpret and translate my champion's wishes and commands to the rest of the warband.

  9. I can't decide whether I like the Fallen King or the Lion more. Wonderful work!

  10. I was diagnosed as HEPATITIS B carrier in 2013 with fibrosis of the
liver already present. I started on antiviral medications which
reduced the viral load initially. After a couple of years the virus
became resistant. I started on HEPATITIS B Herbal treatment from
ULTIMATE LIFE CLINIC (www.ultimatelifeclinic.com) in March, 2020. Their
treatment totally reversed the virus. I did another blood test after
the 6 months long treatment and tested negative to the virus. Amazing
treatment! This treatment is a breakthrough for all HBV carriers.
