Come to papa

I've done a lot of space marines and inquisition stuff lately. Last time I did somthing else was in september when I made a couple of eldar minis.

So it felt like the time had come to shake thing up a bit and do something non-imperial and, well... wierd.
And, if you wanna go wierd the choice is easy: Papa Nurgle - everyones favourite chaos deity.

I'm going to try to do a small retuine for Barfholomus, the renegade I made this summer.
First up - plague prophet:

This one took lot of inspiration from Turska and Ana Polanscak (of Gardens of Hecate fame) and the strange and wondrous conversions they continuosly crank out.

    1. Yep! Well - if you consider dark rider mounts actual horses.

  2. Great looking model! His legs are wonderfully awkward and positioned perfectly. The greenstuff work on his hood looks really nice as well.

    1. Thanks Adam! I'm trying to do a little more sculpting but it's a slow learning curve...

  4. Awesome mini! I like those legs a lot too! The guys from spikyratpack brought me here, I'm following their blog since two years now, and in the latest post there was a link to this genius blog! I absolutely love this kitbashing and converting...I bought a little pile of bits and try if I can do that too-it's most definately time for something else than GWs LOTR which I've been doing since ten years now.

Do you plan the caracters before building them (i.e. developp a certain personality and then try to create it with the bits) or is it just coincidence and you decide while you are putting random stuff together?

    Cheers Marc

    1. Glad you like 'em Marc!

It's hard to say how I plan them - it's a back and forth between planning, starting to put things together, that sparking off other ideas and so on. Or just playing around with bitz. However it's normally mini first, character second at any rate...
